Evaluation Planner

Analyze your program and draft an evaluation plan, all in a few clicks.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Follow the prompts to share basic information about your organization and program. Click NEXT and wait for a few minutes. There is a lot of analysis happening in the background so it will not be instant.

  2. The app will produce a draft evaluation plan for your program, including a logic model, timeline, roles and responsibilities, and an analysis of your program.

  3. Select and copy all the text, then paste it into a Word or Google document using ‘Merge formatting’.

  4. Review the draft plan with a critical, human eye. Is the program analysis accurate enough? (It does not need to be perfect since it is just being used to create a useful evaluation plan.) Does the evaluation design reflect your organization’s values and priorities? Are the evaluation methods appropriate? If not, edit the plan. Once you’re happy with the draft, engage the people who matter most to your organization in improving the plan. Don’t put the plan into action until it meets your team’s requirements and truly feels your own.

Why we created this app

This evaluation tool is informed by our team’s decades of experience with evaluation and by our understanding of the challenges that evaluation poses for nonprofits. As evaluation platform vendor to the Ontario Trillium Foundation, we’ve had the opportunity to work with hundreds of organizations across Ontario, and we’ve seen the hours of work that agencies pour into planning and conducting evaluations. The OTF platform aims to ease the burden of evaluation for OTF grantees, by providing simple, flexible data collection and reporting tools and targeted evaluation coaching. As the OTF platform marks its fourth year of operation, our team is working to translate our learning into new tools that can support more nonprofits to plan and run effective evaluations. Our AI apps are the result of that effort.
